STEMGuyana Develops Talent, Strengthens Character, Builds Futures

Eight years ago, a quiet, curious student named Lucas Simpson joined a local STEM club in Guyana. Like so many of our children, Lucas had potential but needed a place where he could build knowledge, confidence, and sort out his ambitions. Through his journey with STEMGuyana, Lucas found that place.

Lucas started as a club member, learning robotics, coding, and problem-solving. Over time, he grew into more than just a student. He became a volunteer, then a junior club assistant, later an intern, and eventually a club leader. Today, Lucas participates in our Young Innovators Club, representing Guyana in global competitions while mentoring the next generation of students coming through our doors.

This is what STEMGuyana is all about. We are not just a program; we are a community for life. Our students don’t just pass through, they grow with us, and we grow with them. We help them achieve their ambitions by offering opportunities to develop talent, build confidence, gain exposure, travel the world and access academic support. For those seeking to go further, we provide university counseling and internship opportunities both at home and abroad.

To the corporate community, we share with you that when you engage a STEMGuyana member as a volunteer or intern, you are not just hiring help, you are welcoming a brilliant, confident, creative, and hard-working individual who will add value to any team.  Lucas and his classmates from 2018 are living proof. Many of them are now excelling academically and professionally, and most importantly, they continue to give back. For many, STEMGuyana offered their first opportunity to speak in public, to lead, and even to earn an income. We were proud to stand with them then, and we remain proud of the young men and women they have become.

At STEMGuyana, we believe in lifelong relationships. As our students achieve, they return to encourage those coming behind them, ensuring that the cycle of mentorship, growth, and excellence continues for generations.
